Bonell Property Renovation Portfolio Case Study
Project Overview:
This project saw the transformation of a dated lounge into a beautifully tailored living space centred around a bespoke media wall. The clients wanted a seamless integration of modern technology with traditional charm – combining a floating oak mantle, a fireplace feature, and elegant alcove finishes to create a visually striking yet functional focal point.
The brief was to open up the existing fireplace and construct a new stud wall to house a TV pocket and electric wood-burning stove. The design was enhanced with carefully chosen features, including herringbone brick slips, bespoke timber elements, and full room decoration, all completed to the highest standard.
Involved Divisions:
This project required coordination across several of our teams. Our project management division oversaw timelines and client communication, while carpentry and electrical teams carried out much of the technical installation. Our decorating team ensured the final finish was flawless, adding polish to an already striking design.

Project Scope:
– Opened up the existing fireplace to accommodate the new feature wall
– Constructed a stud wall with precise cavities for both the fireplace and a TV pocket
– Installed a floating oak mantelpiece, adding warmth and natural texture
– Installed herringbone brick slips within the fireplace chamber for a classic, characterful finish
– Fitted hearth material (client-selected) for a complete, grounded look
– Applied MDF wood panelling to the alcoves on either side of the chimney breast, creating visual depth and symmetry
– Installed an electric wood-burning stove to provide comfort and style with minimal maintenance
– Upgraded pipework boxing under the radiator for a clean, consistent finish
– Installed 6 LED downlights along with electrical and AV feeds tailored to the new media setup
– Plastered, coved, and fully decorated the room and panelling
– Removed all associated waste and left the property clean and ready for use
